Winter Weddings

It is snowing outside, and the winter season is about to begin. What is an appropriate subject to discuss..."Winter Weddings."

There is no doubt that winter weddings can be very beautiful. But, there some things to consider. Colors is one thing to consider. Some winter colors are silver, black, burgundy and emerald green, to name a few. Some winter flowers are roses, lilies, chrysanthemums, hydrangea and poinsettias. Many brides like winter weddings because they want to wear the white fur. Many wedding decorations will include ice, frosted trees and snowflakes. Now it make sense to have a winter wedding if your living along the east coast. But, with many wonderful planners and their ideas, winter wonderland theme can be created no matter what the season is and location of the event. You also have to consider the time. Don't forget, it gets dark early in the winter.

Some do's and don'ts for Winter Weddings:


- do keep bridesmaids in style
- do not be inconsiderate (do not leave your bridal party outside; consider their bridal gowns and the type of shoes they are wearing)

- do a warm & cozy reception (candles create a romantic glow)
- do not overheat the reception

- do time management (try to stay on schedule with timing)
- do not leave guests out in the cold (have a waiting area at the reception site, especially if they cannot go inside until a specific time, and they arrive early)

When all said and done, "Winter Weddings" can be very romantic and elegant. You also have to consider the weather. Some states have heavy snow storms and this makes it very difficult to travel. especially if you have out of town guests. Classic music playing at the reception for dinner sets off a certain elegance about the evening.

As the evening come to a close, your "Winter Wedding" will be something to remember. As you exit, ride off in your all white limousine.

Wearing White to a Wedding

Deciding what to wear to a wedding, can be a difficult decision for some. You would think this is a difficult decision for the bride and bridal party to make, but really, it is the guest who are having trouble deciding what to wear.

Do you think wearing "WHITE" to a wedding is appropriate? Some may say yes. It can be considered an insult to the bride. Afterall, shouldn't she be the only one wearing white? If guests decide to wear white, does the bride have the right to approach them; or should she wait until afterwards. Afterall, let's not ruin your day by thinking about your guests attire. If this occurs, should the bride have her coordinator tell her guests and have them escorted out. We do not want the bride to feel uneasy at her own wedding. If this is the case, what about "BLACK" or even "RED".... black was once considered a funeral color. In some instances, it still is. But now, you can wear a cute black cocktail dress.

Now, if someone wears white to your wedding...hmmm...she may be also wearing WINE before the night is over....

Etiquette/Tattoes

LEt's talk TATTOES for a moment. It can be a sensitive subject for some. Many brides and their attendants have tattoes. Some are more visible than others. If the bride doesn't want any of her attendants showing their tattoes, is it polite to ask them to cover them. Some would say yes, and some would say no. One thought is, consider the type of b-maids gown you have chosen for your attendants. If the tattoes are visible, why ask them to be a part of your wedding, knowing they have tattoes. Some brides would like elegance, when it comes to their wedding party. Now, if the bride herself has tattoes and she isn't covering hers, should she still ask her b-maids to cover theirs. Does the term "Lead by Example" apply here? When choosing your attendants, and knowing one or all of them have visible tattoes, should you take that into consideration when choosing their attire for the wedding. But again, are you pleasing them or you? You may not be happy with the gowns you have chosen, because you do not want to offend anyone.

The same question would go for body piercings...

Bridal Show

August 16, 2009.... I attended the Bridal Show today held at the Marriott Waterfront. I really enjoy attending these exhibits. It keeps me on my p's an q's. I like to know the latest of everything; gowns, flowers...I like to make myself known in the industry. It's all about networking. I get a business card, I give a business card. Tasting the cakes are a plus as well. The fashion shows give you a view of the latest styles and colors. looking forward to another show soon.

Networking

Networking is very important when trying to expand your business. Try to attend many networking events as possible. Create a website, word of mouth is a great way to get your business name on the market. Referrals is always the number 1 choice. But, do you find yourself networking and nothing seems to happen? Well, the answer is simple, it takes time. It will not happen overnight. Host a networking event yourself.
